Call for papers
The Conference will be organized at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, Croatia (address: Lepušićeva 6, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia). Faculty is located in the very center of Zagreb, less than 10-minute walk from the main square (Ban Jelačić). All participants are kindly asked to take necessary steps for their travel arrangements soon after their participation is confirmed by the organizing committee.
The Zagreb International Airport has good connections (direct or indirect) with all main European airports.
We are pleased to invite you to submit your abstracts for a three-day international student conference entitled Democracy at a Turning Point? This event will be held at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb (Croatia) on 12-14 June 2017, and is organized by the Students' Union of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb.
The conference will bring together students, academics and researchers to discuss various challenges that contemporary democracy is facing: from the rise of populism and the new right to the question of human rights. We are looking for empirical and/or theoretical papers that address the theme of the conference in the broadest sense.
The aim of the conference is, thus, to tackle various themes including:

Populism

The New Right and the New Left

Human rights
-
Labour (workers’ rights and unions)
-
Illiberal democracies
-
Other relevant themes
All interested in presenting their papers may apply for the conference by attaching the institution affiliation, proposed title and abstract (300-500 words) to e-mail: student.conference.fpzg@gmail.com
Presenters will be invited to submit their papers for a review and then to be published in a special edition of Little Leviathan - the only political science student journal in Croatia.
